Sorry I have been MIA

Just wanted to take a few minutes to update my blog and let you know why I seemed to disappear a bit lately. I don't like to get all negative, but personally, I have been going through a very rough time in my life. A lot has been going on that I would rather not get into right now, but the worst of it all happened today. My "Uncle" Bruce died today at his group home. For the past few months, he has been suffering and in the final stages of Parkinson's Disease. A month ago, I had to go sign papers to allow Hospice to help take care of him as he was failing to thrive. Last week, I was informed that Bruce stopped eating. I knew the end wasn't far behind as that is what happened to my own father when he passed away in 2004. I received the call very early this morning that he had passed. I couldn't answer the phone. I saw who it was on the caller id and I just stayed in bed. It was almost as if I did not want to deal with it or hear the news. A few hours later came the call from the funeral home. I didn't answer that call either. Not too long after that, someone from the funeral home showed up at my house. I thought that was odd but the guy was very nice and decent towards me. I even got a call from the social worker at Hospice to offer her condolences. That was very nice of her. I appreciated her reaching out to me. I have so many mixed feelings about my Uncle's death. I am glad he is no longer suffering but yet I hate to see him go. I would prefer not to dwell on this sad subject right now but I hope to be blogging away again soon, so please stay tuned!!
